Mufakkir-e-Islam Allaama Qamr-uz-Zamaan A'zmi Sahab (may Allah Ta'ala protect him) narrates:
In 1972, Mawlaana Qaari Husaynud-Deen Sahab (who was a resident of Gujarat) intended to leave for London. He reached Bareilly Sharif to greet Huzur Mufti-e-A'zam Hind - before departing for the airport. He informed Huzur about his departure to London. Hazrat issued him a Ta'awidh and requested him to present it to a certain person in Bradford who sought for it in a telegram. Mawlaana Husaynud-Deen Sahab became very jovial and started informing those around him, "Now, no law can stop me from reaching London. Because I am leaving with the Amaanah (trust) of Sarkaar Mufti A'zam Hind". It should be noted that in those times London Visa was issued upon arrival. And many times people were denied entry. Qaari Sahab landed on the airport.
The senior officer of Immigration asked him, "Why have you come here?"
He replied, "To teach"
The officer asked, "What will you teach?"
He said, "The Noble Qur'an"
"Recite the Qur'an for me"
Qaari Sahab recited Surah Faatiha and the officer issued him with a VISA.
Perhaps, in the history of England, this was the most brief and unique interview.
