☆SEVEN DATES☆
Sayyiduna Irbad Bin Sariyah Radiyallahu Ta'ala Anhu has narrated that during the Battle Of Tabuk RasulAllah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ once asked Sayyiduna Bilal Radiyallahu Ta'ala Anhu, "O Bilal Radiyallahu Ta'ala Anhu! Do you have anything to eat?" Sayyiduna Bilal Radiyallahu Ta'ala Anhu replied, "O Prophet of Allah! Sallallahu Alay Wa Alihi Wasallam! I swear by Allah Azawajal that we have emptied our bags but could not find anything to eat." RasulAllah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said, "Look carefully and empty your bags properly, perhaps you find something." Sayyiduna Bilal Radiyallahu Ta'ala Anhu has stated that they were three in number. As they emptied their bags again they found seven dates.
Keeping the dates on a piece of paper, RasulAllah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ placed his blessed hands over them. He then said to us, "Recite Bismillah and eat." We then began to eat, taking the dates from under the blessed hand of RasulAllah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. Sayyiduna Bilal Radiyallahu Ta'ala Anhu goes onto say that he kept the seeds in his left hand and when he counted them, there were 54 seeds in his hand alone. The other two Companions Ridwanullah Alayhum also ate until they were satiated. Sayyiduna Irbad Bin Sariyah Radiyallahu Ta'ala Anhu has further stated that RasulAllah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ raised his blessed hand from over the dates after they had finished eating. The Companions Ridwanullah Alayhum were suprised to see that all seven dates were still present over the piece of paper. Turning to Sayyiduna Bilal Radiyallahu Ta'ala Anhu, RasulAllah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ then ordered, "O Bilal! Keep them safe and do not allow anyone to eat. These dates will be useful later on."
Sayyiduna Bilal Radiyallahu Ta'ala Anhu goes onto say that the next day at mealtime, RasulAllah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ again asked for dates and did the same thing, that is positioned his blessed hand over the dates and commanded us to eat reciting Bismillah. On that day, ten of us ate till we were satiated. When RasulAllah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ lifted his blessed hand, the seven dates were still present. RasulAllah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ then said, "O Bilal! If I had not felt Hayah (Shyness) from my Creator, we could have eaten from these seven dates by the time of returning to Madinah". RasulAllah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ Then gave those dates to a young boy who ate them and left.
